Listening at home
Our 2026 report brings together seven accounts of home visits, five with dated headings. During the visits, people and their relatives discussed daily life, previous assistance and the difficulties they wanted us to understand. The accounts give examples of our work during the year.
Practical matters we discussed
The visits covered support for small livelihood activities, the use of assistive equipment and help with transport. We discussed how an item of equipment or support for an activity fitted into a household’s daily routine. Some conversations identified difficulties that required further attention.
Understanding the scope
The seven accounts are the entries in this report, rather than a total of all visits completed in 2026. A visit can identify a need or record how support is being used. Further follow-up is needed to understand lasting changes in a person’s circumstances.

Ask about reuseThe purposes of the visits
The supplied document brings together seven visit accounts, including five dated headings. Members, the coordinator, administrative colleagues and an intern appear in different entries. The reasons for visiting include understanding a household’s situation, discussing the use of previous support, helping a small activity continue and following up assistive equipment or transport needs.
A visit could combine practical discussion, encouragement and prayer with a family. Some entries concern new support, while others return to earlier needs. The public edition keeps these purposes without reproducing names, home directions, diagnoses or the financial circumstances of individual households.
Activities, equipment and further contact
Livelihood discussions concerned practical activities such as craft work, poultry and small trading. The accounts show the importance of household collaboration, losses or interruptions and the need to protect the activity’s resources. Other conversations considered the usefulness or condition of assistive equipment and the difficulty of reaching services.
The record is a collection of examples rather than a complete annual register. It gives no consistent before-and-after measure across all seven entries. Its value is the detail of what members discussed and what still required attention. Any later individual story needs a verified link between dated records and permission for that particular public use.
