Our story

A community vision from Bamenda

A board from CVID-CAM’s first constituent general assembly records a meeting on 6 February 2021 in Musang, Bamenda. The organisation’s later authorisation is dated 21 July 2021. Its work is rooted in community-based support for persons with disabilities and other vulnerable persons.

Our vision

Equal opportunity to participate

Our founding banner describes a society in which vulnerable persons are recognised, protected, and given equal opportunities to participate and become development actors.

Our mission

Sustainable support, built together

Our founding banner calls for community-based, sustainable support to persons with disabilities, other vulnerable persons including those at risk, and community structures through education, health, protection, and livelihood.

From our founding materials

Goals rooted in participation.

These aims come from CVID-CAM’s organisation banners. They describe direction, not a claim that every activity is currently running.

  1. Carry out development initiatives in the community to meet the needs of vulnerable persons.

  2. Build the capacity of existing teachers in schools and other professionals in inclusive practices.

  3. Improve the welfare of persons with disabilities and other vulnerable persons in the community.

  4. Strengthen community participation in inclusive development.

  5. Assist children with learning disabilities in schools to overcome their difficulties.

  6. Partner with other organisations nationally and internationally.
